BREAKAWAY ROPING

Breakaway roping is one of the most popular rodeo events, especially prominent in women’s professional rodeo, including events sanctioned by the Women's Professional Rodeo Association and now featured in major competitions such as the National Finals Rodeo.

How it works:

The rider starts in a box behind a barrier on horseback.

When the calf is released, the rider chases it and throws a loop to catch it around the neck.

Once the rope tightens, the rope horn breaks, signaling the end of the run.

The horse stops while the calf continues running free.

BREAKAWAY ROPING practice at the Club is on the following schedule:

Sunday 10am-12pm
Thursday: 6-8pm
Friday: 5-7pm

Cattle Use Fee: $30
